There was a horses show over the holiday weekend that had been event #3 on my list of things to attend. However, since I still had not even attended #1 or 2, I figured on 3 being out…. especially with Chewbacca having had time off the last 3 weeks due to an abscess, and Jesse not having a current coggins. Hmm…
As it was, Jesse’s owner contacted me at 7:30 in the morning on show day and said the coggins was on my tack trunk. Whoo!
Somehow, within 2 hours, I managed to groom 2 horses, clean and load 2 carts onto my trailer, help get the horse trailer hitched, load, get to a show, and still have time to braid Jesse’s mane, clean harnesses and even do some warmup before the classes.
It was an unexpected “surprise” start to my Saturday, and made for a fun day. There were 7 of us in the classes, and we all had quite a bit of fun. Jesse got in the low ribbons, and Luke won the pleasure. He got lower ribbons in Reinsmanship and cones. Jesse is such a good little show pony – now all I need to do is figure out why we aren’t winning at the shows.
Don’t have any pictures of us in the classes, but here’s a couple from before them:
I am tentatively looking at a horse show out of state with Chewbacca in July, but we’ll have to see. Otherwise, the next show on the agenda isn’t until August. Talk about a light year of showing! What ever happened to those 12 events this year? What was I thinking? lol
