Reasons why my husband isn’t allowed near clippers…..

My husband.  The over-doer and under-doer at the same time.  He has the amazing ability to not want to participate in anything at all, to be forced to do some things, while taking it upon himself to over do other things that he shouldn’t be doing in the first place.

Among those many things he should not be doing… is handling in any way at all, grooming supplies for horse or human…. or dog.

A few years ago, he decided he should trim the miniature horse’s mane.. with scissors..  Because he decided that she didn’t need her mane anymore…  It was not pretty…

And then, not long after that, he decided that since fancy Hackney ponies didn’t have forelocks, his hackney pony Luke was not in need of a forelock, either…

Now, I don’t have photographic evidence of the bad body clipping job he gave Dixie the mini right around the same time, nor do I have photographic proof of the very bad hair cuts he’s given himself on his overly-impulsive with the clippers days…. but, this most recent atrocity, I definitely made sure to record…..

It’s been pretty hot around here the last few days or week… temperatures near 90.  I recently posted about my first body clipping efforts with our ponies.  I gave the mini a full body clip I’m very proud of, and she looks like she should be in a show ring.  I also gave the hackney pony a high trace clip.  It came out OK, but I could use some real practice on doing that clip job.  See my previous posts for pictures about it.

But, despite the hacking of manes and forelocks, too short hair cuts on his own head, and bad buzz cuts on the mini…. I think this final stand is probably the worst – and most comical- I’ve seen yet….

I believe the pictures explain for themselves……

And now…..

Have a fun day!  And please visit my other sites, too!
